About

You want to know who I am? Well, sit down and have some tea while I read for you a li'l bit...

History

I started using computers when I was very young, about five years old. My and my brother got our own little thing with Windows XP on it, and it didn't have an Internet access in it (yet). We mostly played CD-ROM learning games, and just messed around in MS Paint. Sometimes, very rarely, I got to be on my parents' computer and play Flash games! Already that small glance at the world of the Web took my breath away and I begged my parents to let us use Internet on our own PC as well. Eventually they gave in, and thus the surfing began! I mostly spent my time playing various Flash games, watching meme videos from early Youtube and just searching up random things, because it truly was sensational to type "tortoise" into Google search and get pictures of tortoises! Magic!

Then, around the age of 9-10, I discovered this website domain that allowed you to make your own site (their service sadly discontinued in 2019 or so). It was a very linear process, you only needed an email; they had ready-to-use themes and everything! I made several websites through this service, and discovered a lot of communities through it as well; the most common ones being so called care-taking websites, where you could adopt kaos or neopets and write stories about them, together with other users! The websites also had different events and shops, it was all very cute and wholesome. Sure, all the images were stolen from Neopets or other similar websites, but you have to keep in mind that the age range in these websites was probably something like 8-13 years old.

My writing skills expanded tremendously during those times, but my interest towards these websites naturally started to die out when I became older; this was also around the time when social media was starting to become the new norm. Suddenly I realized it had been years since I even owned an active website. I did make a couple of website projects during primary and high school, but instead of artistic creative projects, website creation started to feel like something very mechanical and soulless. Only years and years later I realized why I liked making websites in the first place, how I loved all the freedom and tools it offered.

And that's how this website was born! Like many other people sprouting new personal sites into the World of Web, I got tired of social media, its limitations and corporate nature. Every tweet and post started to feel like some sort of performance. Every user had their own "brand" and everything you do and create is just content for people to quickly consume while endlessly scrolling through their feed. But nobody was forcing me to be there; I love being online and connecting with other people. That's why I decided to go back to the roots of the web.
